Scotty Gilmore
Sensors Director
Dr. Scotty Gilmore brings extensive industry experience as a technical leader, driving the development and delivery of commercial, airborne, and space flight hardware.
At Raytheon Technologies, as a technical fellow, he led Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensor system design through fabrication, testing and fielding. His role included technical director of the world’s largest monolithic mid-wavelength infrared sensor core from design through delivery for high altitude operation. He also served as the chief engineer of a missile sensor upgrade with cutting edge digital-in-pixel technology providing unprecedented performance. During his time at Ball Aerospace (BAE Systems), Dr. Gilmore was an integrated product team (IPT) lead in the Detector Technology Center. In this role, he oversaw the design, development, and delivery of two fully space-qualified hyperspectral ultraviolet to visible spectrometer focal plane subsystems, both of which are currently operational in geostationary orbit.
Joining Matter Intelligence, Scotty will now spearhead the creation of a new ultraspectral sensor infrastructure. This involves developing advanced sensors that transcend the visible spectrum to capture precise information on the composition, shape, and temperature of all matter—from space to surface.
